Who will also bring money. The fact so many people think the playoff committee isn't revenue driven, like everything else in CFB, shows just how naive they are.
The money is already set. ESPN already is paying for the playoffs a set amount that is split evenly between the major conference no matter if they get a team in or not. Who goes every year doesn't change the payouts whatsoever.
What ESPN wants for that money is that the best four teams in the country play every year. They don't want a limp dick 2 loss team getting in over a 1 loss team from either the SEC or B1G because the ratings would be better for the 1 loss team. That is the bottom line.

How about a tie?
Wish you both well and no injuries.

I too want an 8 team playoff, if only because it would solidify the Big 12 (and its programs) as a fifth-most respected conference forever.
I think we will get to 8 games, but not because it's the fair thing to do. We will get there because the playoffs are killing the value of the major non-playoff bowls. ESPN tried to have its cake and eat it too by having a playoffs AND having New Year's Day bowls equivalent to what we used to call "BCS Bowls" But no one gives a shite about a bowl that isn't part of the playoffs, so soon they will have to expand.

No. What ESPN wants is 4 teams who will ensure high ratings.
You really are naive enough to believe they only care about who's "best", aren't you?

Typical response from an Aggie. What you don't realize is how little youre talked about amongst the LSU fanbase. Honestly the aggies are on the same level as southern miss or south alabama. a gimmie game

Which is usually the best teams.
I mean how else do programs with small fanbases like UH, TCU and Boise have good ratings? Because their teams are good.

Not if its two teams from the same conference, particularly the SEC. See the 2012 BCSNCG for reference.
But whatever man. I'm done arguing with you. Raining on the delusion parade is getting depressing. Carry on.

I would argue SEC fatigue had set in. Michigan vs Ohio St rematch gets big ratings for sure.

Fair enough, the truth is we don't have enough data any way. It will take YEARS to put together exactly what the committee is looking for in each case.
For example we haven't seen any conference game upsets the last two years. That could change things.

There is just simply no way that Bama loses 2 games. They either lose to LSU or Auburn only if at all, and more than likely will go undefeated. There is a very small chance A&M makes it as the 2nd SEC team in final 4 if they win out and only loss is to Bama. THey would need lots of help however such as Clemson and Michigan losing.

Aggies don't cheer. Some might be yelling for LSU, but not many.
