Your logic makes no sense.

But I'll elaborate. It's well-documented that Alleva had to settle on keeping Miles and Cameron and in turn made them both promise to the athletic department, the boosters, and the fans that there would be changes on offense. Obviously that didn't happen.

I have never heard of a program firing a coach because he might win too many games that season.

He thinks "feel golds" are worth 5 points.

The excuse doesn't make sense, just like the whole "we will get an early start" rationale.

Today LSU fans are grasping at straws to explain the actions of their incompetent AD and they are failing.

Technically he was fired 1/3 of the way into the season.

Worst start since 2005, fans are mad, boosters are primed, strike when the fire is hot.

Was the perfect move actually. Would have been better without last years foolishness, but a good move for LSU.

No even close.

Optimal Move: fire Les after last season

Semi-optimal move: fire Joe after he failed to fire Les last season so new competent AD can hire the next coach

Non-optimal move: Joe fires Les four games too late, and he still gets to pick the next coach

We fired him Mid-Season for not being a good football coach.

Also anyone who watched the auburn game knows "winning too many games" isn't even a remote possibility for LSU this season.

What is there to explain?

It's obvious he was on a short leash. Les wasn't going to change his style and kept Cam at his own demise.

If you ask me Les fired himself. Timing was right actually and only thing Alleva did correct concerning Les the last two seasons.

To make it clear to potential candidates we weren't screwing around this time.

No, waiting till the end of the season was not optimal.

The firing of Alleva is a different topic than the OP.

Alleva actually did it right.

You just happen to be completely wrong on this issue.

Nah. If we are talking about what is best for my program, Herman going to LSU is better than him either staying at Houston (and fricking up our control of that market) or him going to Texas (and fricking up our chance to carve a chunk out of the state during a down period for them).

Hell it's not like Herman can beat us more than Les did or suck up more Texas talent than Les did. In fact there is always the chance he could fail at LSU, which no LSU fan is willing to admit today.

I am fine with Herman to LSU, I am just trying to talk about the situation at hand.

How so? Why is right now better than the end of last season or the end of this season when it's easier to keep the recruiting class together?

Which I think is a completely rational perspective.

You're showing recruits change is coming on offense and they will continue to be able to recruit WR's and get better QB's or actually utilize the QB's talent.

You are letting candidates know there is an opening.

Keeping Les and the anemic offense wasn't going to help. They are obviously looking to salvage the season and move forward.

Why keep him for the whole season when the entire fan base is angry, boosters are done with him, and his players are screaming at him on the sideline.

It was the correct move. You may not like it but not sure you appear to be extremely agitated over a rival program.

You would think you would be cheering the move if t was so horrible. Lol
