Why OM, Southern Miss, and Mizzou may have been the worst three games for LSU

in terms of raising false confidence.

Ole Miss is without a doubt, one of the worst defenses in the SEC. They're a team with no direction, nothing to play for, and a horrendous defense. Ole Miss did what Ole Miss does this season. Give up 30+ points. 48 to Bama, 34 to FSU, 34 to Arkansas, 38 to LSU. Also gave up 28 points to Memphis.

Southern Miss boasts the outstanding resume of giving up 55 points to the University of Texas.....San Antonio. A team that averages 28 points per game. Other notables include 37 to Troy, 35 to UK, 28 to Rice, and 45 to LSU.

Mizzou is currently tied for 80th in points against. Boasting the claim to fame of letting Middle Tennessee State University put 51 points on them. Other notables include 40 to UF, 28 to UGA, and 42 to LSU.

So why is this important?

Because, LSU isn't going to face Mizzou, OM or Southern Miss on defense. They're going to face a defense of the caliber, and probably better than Wisconsin and Auburn.

Two teams which LSU scored a combined 27 points on.

Now, the cognitive dissonance is strong around here, but I ask you, how does anyone think LSU is suddenly amazing on offense, while having faced no one with a defense? And the ones they have faced, they've lost?

LSU is putting up max 17-21 points on Alabama. Max. If their defense can hold, they may win the game. But please don't try and tell me that LSU's "new look" offense is anything more than playing three teams who wouldn't tackle a running back if they were naked and looked like Kate Upton.

73-6 in the second half of those 3 games! I don't care if you playing the school of the blind, deaf and no limps, that is still impressive. Grind on!

They will turn on one another halfway into the 3rd quarter

How many points did Alabama score this season when they played a defense the caliber of Wisconsin?

Oh yeah, they haven't.

Why would you even start a thread on this? You look like you're whistling past the graveyard. If you were confident, none of this shite would matter.

Still set records in all 3. Miles has had 11 years to play worse defenses than those, and we have done something he never has in every single game since he's been gone

Does it mean we are world beaters? No, but it means we are obviously doing something different. We are a better team than we were week 4.
A better team than the one that lost to a top 10 Wisconsin on a pic in FG range, a better team than the one that lost to auburn on a snap one second too late as time expired.

Meh, LSU was a sexy pick to win the SEC before the season started. They have the talent there, and O seems to have woken them up and the offense has vastly improved as a result. Their defense is still nasty and dangerous.

This is going to be a slug fest.

Which is why I said if LSU's defense can hold they may win the game.

I'm not confident Alabama is going to put up a ton of points. But I am pretty confident LSU won't be scoring many.

Why did we not hear about how terrible Ole Miss was before the game?

If you going to come with facts come with them all. 2 losses on the road to #11 and #15 by 7 points total. You think Alabama's victories are that much better? What their best win against A&M?

I'm not doing this shite for 2 weeks, that I can tell you!

Ole Miss vs Alabama:
- Ole Miss: 522 yards of offense
- Alabama: 492 yards of offense (3 offensive TDs)
- Chad Kelly: 421 yards, 3 TDs, 0 interceptions

Ole Miss vs LSU:
- Ole Miss: 325 yards of offense (200 less)
- LSU: 515 yards of offense (5 offensive TDs)
- Chad Kelly: 209 yards, 1 TD, 2 interceptions

All that, and LSU had 3 turnovers compared to Bamas 1 turnover...

Good luck

LSU has struggled before against terrible defenses under Miles. That is where some have confidence.

Being good against terrible defenses doesn't mean you will be good against real defenses. Ask ATM.

I don't think anyone is expecting LSU to come out and drop 35 on Bama. If LSU scores 17-21 they have a chance.
