Clearly, I'm not a Georgia fan but I'm not blind either. The kid is poised to break just about every major career passing record in the SEC. I get that AJ McCarron has won more but does anyone really think BAMA wouldn't have won with Murray?

Murray is a great QB and I believe he would also have 2 rings if he played for Bama.

ETA - make that 3.

He hasn't won anything yet. His record against top 25 teams is amazingly awful. He's great breaking records, but not winning the hardware. That's why there is no love for him. He's 0-3 against SCAR and 0-2 in SECCG. He has to win big games to earn the respect of other SEC teams.

As if a QB could win games by himself. He has played extremely well considering he has played for good, but not great teams. To put all wins and losses solely on the QB is simply wrongheaded.

Using this logic says that Dan Marino was not a great QB. I mean, he never won a Super Bowl, right? So he obviously was not a good QB.

QB's are so hard to pin down. We have all seen QBs over the years put up huge numbers and then do very little at the next level. (Andre Ware, anyone?) Yet, if we think hard enough, we can also find QBs that people put very little faith in that have turned out to be very good QBs. (Russel Wilson) The experts say Murray might not ever be a very good QB at the next level, but the "experts" are often wrong as much as they are right. In short, it's hard to tell if Murray will be great. All we can go by is what he has done to date, and that is by going by his raw numbers.

Sure he does. I can name several big games he has won. Manziell lost to LSU. That was a big game. Does that mean he can't win big games? Manziell lost to Flordia. THAT was a big game. The only BIG game that Manziell won was against Alabama.
Obviously Manziell is not very good.

It's because he is 1-5 against top 10 teams. Or something close to that. Abysmal record in big games.

QBs are judged only by their wins and losses. And it's also because Murray has performed poorly in many big games. The last two SCAR games, he looked scared and fumbled the game away 2 years ago. He almost lost the Florida game last year with the defense playing lights out. I will give him credit, he is turning it around with a solid SECCG game performance last year and a huge bowl win by picking apart the #1 rated pass defense in the nation. I'm excited about how he will do in this stretched of 3 top ten teams in 4 weeks. I think he finally has the monkey off his back and can prove it by winning a tough road game and taking on the other two at home.
