Why is the LSU pass D so bad?

Its truly puzzling, with all this amazing DBU talent they are the #12 pass D in the SEC in yards/att. Also consider, they haven't faced even a decent passing team yet (Wisconsin is the top rated pass offense that faced at #70 in the country)
Its just more than a little odd that they cant cover anybody even with the greatest pass rusher in the history of football lining up for them.
Somebody explain this anomaly

Because Aranda is overrated.

They will still be the best pass D Mizzou has faced to this point.

It's Aranda's first year. First year DC's usually aren't all that great. Except for Steele at Auburn.

Because Steele was the best coach on their team last year and they let him get away

because with the new 3-4 aranda defense, we can't provide enough pressure to rush the q.b. This allows receivers to break off of their routes and make open catches.

They are soft. Have been for about 5 years now.

Donte Jackson busting some big plays.
Young LBs and former DEs in coverage now.
Will improve IMO. Wisconsins TE had 100 yards, mostly on LBs or releasing to the flats and lbs not following

Why is it that Mizzou (and their vaunted passing game) could only muster 11 points against the #81 pass defense?

3.3, but kind of unfortunately
2012 D was top 10, it's all relative to other teams that season though i guess because the 14 D ended up higher nationally.
12 D was very good IMO minus the ole miss anomaly. Held 8 of 12 teams on schedule under 20, with second highest points given up on the season at 22 to townson. Losses all within one score.

Bc we weren't vaunted then....1st year coaching staff, new schemes, etc.

Because the offense builds such incredulous leads, the other team has no choice but to pass and try to catch up, lending to some irregular offensive stats.
Wait.
Wait.

There is room for imrpovement but defensively LSU is playing more than well enough to win. LSU has barely scored in the second half, a lot of 3 and outs and/or possessions with little production. D wears down eventually and gives up some plays.

Had one of the best coverage games against a wide open spread offense in quite some time.. that is for sure..
Your QB avg 4.5 yards lol 17 of 37, 0 tds, 1 int 167 yards
How cute
