Why is Mizzou labeled an East bottomfeeder?

I don't think that Mizzou is going to win the East this year, I honestly have them at anywhere from 6-8 wins. But why are the Tigers being basically pushed aside as a "bottomfeeder" when we've won the east twice in four years?

Because you are Mizzou.

This isn't hard.

Because the East is the worst college football division in the world, and the only reason teams like South Carolina or Missouri have success is because Florida, Georgia, and Tennessee are down.

Anomalies. They just so happened to be in your first few years in the SEC. Won't happen again for a long time and it'll be a fluke then too.

Nothing rustled up the rednecks, hayseeds and hillbillys around here more than Mizzou winning the East in two of its first three years. It blew up the narrative that Mizzou wouldnt compete in the SEC so the goalposts moved to "the east was historically bad"

Just embrace it.

Because college football is a caste system and fans of top programs want to keep it that way.

It is the same thought process that spawns "College football is better when Michigan/USC/Texas/etc. is better" bullshite.

You have to remember athletics re the non-academic part of academy aka the part accessible to the common man. The common man doesn't like change.

Lol I already have. People even called us bottomfeeders when we went 14-2 in SEC in two years.

UF having its worst stretch in 30 years, Tennessee having its worst stretch in its existence, and UGA having a shitload of injuries are very legitimate reasons why Mizzou had so much success.

Mizzou deserves to exist in bottomfeeding purgatory for the foreseeable future for the appeasement approach taken by Pinkel and the admin as a whole last year during the campus silliness. Threatening to not play games? Seriously? Should be ejected from the SEC for that alone.

When you string all those excuses together like that, it almost makes sense.

When a team outside of the Big 6 (Bama, AU, FL, UGA, LSU, & UT) can actually win an SEC Title, then you can sit at the Big Boy table. Until then, you are what you are and won't be considered a Big Boy

That's an excellent question. Catfish are bottom feeders, and we Southerners love our catfish. Why do people praise Mizzou by ranking them as high as bottom feeders?

When I legitimately get pissed off about something on this website, I log off. I like arguing. That's why I love this place.

Arguing my point =\= rustled

I didn't really mean rustled.

Are those excuses or facts that the poster pointed out during the two years Mizzou won the East?
