When all they need is to have another great D?

Last year's squad ranked number one in the country against the rush. It was insane the amount of talent in the front 7.

15 players played fresh all year but out of those 15 players Bama lost Rag, Reed, Rob, Devall, Lee, Pett, GD, and CJ. 3 second rounders and some NFL FAs in there.

They return great talent (RFos, JA) including a guy I can't wait to watch in T Williams. But I think it's safe to say they won't have the depth as last year. It's NS's defense, I expect it to be stout on all sides; but are they deep enough to field a defense as deep as last year's? This more than a QB I think decides their fate in 2017.

The real question is why you are reassuring Bama fans .

Like we dont have our own QB to worry about.

I'm not worried about our QB. But it seems allot of Bama fans want one guy and allot of them want the utta guy.

I was just reading another thread some say Bateman some say the freshman; I just think if the D can duplicate than you have nothing to worry about.

Easier said than done is all.

Bama lost some to the NFL, but 6 players decided to return and that is why Bama will repeat.

Jon Allen, Rueben Foster, Ryan Anderson, Tim Williams, Eddie Jackson, and OJ Howard opted to stay in school.

4 of those guys are 1st team all SEC and Tim williams is on the 2nd team. Anderson will probably end up on one of the post season list.

The key is to have Jrs talented enough to enter the draft early, but somehow retain them.

I just don't want another Ole Miss situation again. Saban and friends were unsure about the QB situation and that's what fricked us against Ole Miss until the 4th quarter.

I think you're more worried than any Bama fan on here.

You've started two threads in the last 3 weeks about our QB situation. I have yet to see a Bama poster start a thread on the subject.

There seems to be a QB controversy in T-Town. This has everything to do with the outcome of the SEC this year; so yes; I'm as curious as you are.

Trust me they worried. Alabama's luck at QB will hit a wall sooner or later. Doesn't matter if you have a great defense. You will need your QB to step up at some point, see LSU's 11' team here.

Again, a great defense will only carry you so far. Yes Alabama's defense last year was great and by all accounts will be great again even with the players they have lost. They will still need their QB to make play, unlike what ours has been able to do.

Oh I'm curious, but I'm not worried until Saban gives us a reason to worry.

There's always a QB controversy when breaking in a new one. You're in deep shite if there's not...just ask Auburn.

Bama has had QBs step up and make the plays when they needed to. No superstar QB's, nothing flashy at the position, not a lot of "luck" to speak of, but with pretty damn good coaching the QBs have done a decent job. They've everyone been productive without being a liability. And they damn sure haven't held the offense back and turned us into one dimensional team. Bama has fielded a very balanced offense that has progressed with the times and made adjustments to the scheme when necessary. That's good coaching.
