Ahhh, yes, I can think of one in particular that turned out to be quite the good investment.

the trophy for back to back 10 win seasons isn't enticing enough.
Remind yourself about this while you're sitting in Legion Field in January.
I'll be in Dallas or Miami.

It's not rocket science. They are consistently a mediocre program. That's what their true form looks like. Their great seasons are clearly the outliers, not their crummy ones.

Because we only win big when we have a senior laden team that gets sick and tired of losing four games a year and they steam roll the frick out of you losers and win championships.

What Auburn accomplishes is the greater question considering the factors working against them...The 3 older brother comments is funny but we have historical and modern rivalries with Florida, Tennessee, Georgia. LSU and Alabama...We didn't beat up on the bad MSU teams for 4 decades.
Of course, playing those rivalries also helped Auburn because we are named after a town, not a state...there are political realities to it when you see it from that context. Those rivalries along with our ability to hold our own shaped Auburn.
The other reason is we have to small of a leadership structure when it comes to decision making and they have a quick trigger when problems arise. We have benefited from it and we also pay the price of this mentality.
