I know this is trivial, but ESPN picked Rice to beat Mississippi State in the Liberty Bowl. That's fine and well, and it very well could happen but the reasoning behind the pick is what tells me that they spend zero time researching.

"Mississippi State's inability to stop the run will hurt them." They went on to talk about how teams like Auburn had their way with us.

We held Auburn to by far its lowest total on the ground this season. Auburn rushed for 200 yards in all but one game this year - 120 against MSU. MSU's DL did a good job against power running teams like Alabama as well.

Rice may win as a 10 point underdog, but come on. Do some research.

You say "ESPN picked" but I'm assuming it was one person.

I really don't why anyone takes their opinions seriously anymore but threads just keep getting made about them.

We also weren't doing our read option at that time (because our qb didn't get it) so it's hard to really take anything away from that game.

but I agree that based on that their logic is a bit suspect.

You also played AU in the 3rd game of the year. AU would run roughshod on moo u if they played today.

If Rice beats us it will be like Georgia losing to Central Florida in that game a couple years ago.

It will be because MSU doesn't give a frick. That's a weird game for the SEC team because its usually a 6-6/7-5 SEC team that may have had a disappointing season against a 10+ win team that won their conference and is dying to take down an SEC team.

If MSU is somewhat up for the game, they will win by 17+.

Of course they would. There is no possible way that MSU could have a decent rush defense.

or they could line up and beat you.

You guys can't crow about how going to a bowl game 4 years in a row is a great achievment then flip the script and say it's becuase your team didn't care if they lose.

based on?

Also way to leave yourself an out. So i'm to understand that if MSU doesn't win by 17, or god forbid, loses, it's only because you weren't up for the game?

We may lose this game. Rice might be better than they seem. It just looks like they are the best team in a really bad conference.

Teams like that beat SEC teams when they don't give a frick - that was the point that I was making. It doesn't seem like that's the case with MSU this year - they are excited to be playing.

Go take your cheatin' arse football team with yet another thief at QB and beat a team with a rapist as a QB and stop worrying about shitty games like the Liberty Bowl.

So this guy makes one comment about how we held Auburn to less rushing yards than anyone all season, which supports the point that he's making against ESPN (Again, nothing to do with Auburn), and you idiots
