Why doesn't South Carolina embrace the garnet color for uniforms?

Garnet helmet and garnet hoops uniforms should be standard. The black look is overhyped. I mean you see unc in Carolina blue, how about Carolina garnet?

Probably because they'd look a hell of a lot like Miss State in all Garnet.
