They used to have some great games on that weekend even up into the late 90's. Was it the conference or schools that changed this?

Well Ole Miss became irrelevant and we would rather have the off week before a big boy game.

The SEC used to have tradition. Then the $ came along. There shouldn't be a football conference that doesn't play round robin during the regular season.

Following a narrow 14-13 win at home against an irrelevant Ole Miss squad, the LSU faithful felt the need to rush the field.

Yeah 10-7... Bad post is bad.

The word "became" implies that they once were relevant..

Unlike State, Ole Miss was relevant at one point. State hasn't even sniffed relevancy outside of your very brief moment last season. In the late 50's early 60's LSU and ole miss were battling for best in the nation.

You've just got to bring it up when it's in a thread title.

I don't think that was the score, but you're an Ole Miss fan, so you are probably too dumb to remember score.

Lol. When did the SEC ever play a round robin?

I hate LSU playing on Halloween weekend. I like having the bye before Bama and I like not having to plan my social calender around LSU and halloween at the same time. However, I did enjoy the LSU-OM game being in late october instead of late nov the last few years.

We have 14 teams

That would be 13 games each.

We would have to ONLY play conference games, and then play an extra one.

Also how did your 1 conference 1 champion round robin bullshite work out last year?

MSU went to Atlanta in 98 and went 10-2 in 99 and almost got back.. In the past 5-6 years MSU has finished ahead of Ole Miss in the west. Has Ole Miss ever been to Atlanta? Or even been close? Serious question.
