Why does SEC baseball still have divisions?

Surprised they haven't gone the route of SEC basketball and gotten rid of them.

Because you can't play all 13 teams in a season

we play 10 weekends and don't we rotate them. Didn't Bama and LSU not play a weekend series recently

Only teams from opposite divisions rotate. LSU plays bama every year.

maybe I an confusing softball where Bama and LSU did not play recently. Either way I like the conferences
