Because it's actually true. Not just LSU fans justifying every loss as "We're their Super Bowl"

Because people still shite all over the quality of play in the SEC everyday despite their play against UK. Seems somebody needs reminding until they change the "but they should beat the hell out of everyone" narrative.

What does it matter what people think about the quality of UK's opponents? Is he lobbying for a number 1 seed?

He doesn say I it for yours or anybody else's consumption. Everything he says is to keep his team grounded and focussed. He has one of the youngest teams in college basketball. He has to stay on them all the time. He also never gives his team credit for playing great , he just points out their mistakes.

1. It's true.
2. Keeps a young team focused.

If every SEC team played every game with the intensity and focus they give to the UK game, there would be 7 or 8 conference teams in the top 25.

There was plenty of talk until Virginia lost a game that UK shouldn't be #1. If they drop one in the SEC Tournament he'll have to lobby to keep the overall #1 unfortunately. Hell, Doug Gottlieb damn near jizzed himself over trying to get Arizona a 1 seed today. There's always going to be detractors and sometimes that matters.

He's definitely lobbying for his team to not overlook anyone. Why does it bother you so much what Cal says?
