Why do so many people have MSU finishing 7th in the West?

What's the fantasy here? A team that lost a few players but returns a lot of important pieces from a team that finished 2nd, including the best returning QB is not going drop off that badly.
The only way MSU finishes 7th is if Dak keeps getting in fights and gets injured.

Saban and Freeze exposed the Dak attack. That was evident in Florida in January and March.

I think Ole Miss, A&M, LSU, or Arky could all finish 7th. Unless Prescott gets hurt, I don't see MSU finishing worse than 4th.

Go through the list, though. I haven't yet sat down to prognosticate, but just off the top of my head, the main issue for MSU isn't necessarily that they're not good, but that the West is likely to be absolutely brutal this year. MSU could be an excellent team and still risk falling to the bottom of the standings.
