What fricking planet are they living on?

Yeah, Florida sucked, Georgia fell apart but we were a Duke upset away from another all SEC BCSNCG.

I blame Mizzou.

They're confusing an ever-increasing state of SEC team parity w the conference being "down."

Why no pic of Oregon eviscerating Tennessee?

LSU, Bama and aTm all underachieved. Combined with Florida and Georgia meltdowns the SEC had a down year.

A&M and Bama didn't underachieve.

LSU layed an egg vs. Ole Miss, but was basically what everyone thought they'd be.

UGA and UF are the only reason people perceive the SEC as down in 2013.

LSU was expected to lose 3 games with all they lost and as young as they are.

Bama was undefeated until losing to a top 4 team in the road. Barely.

AtM only underacheived because AU was a lot better than anyone else thought.

Ole Miss was good. USC was really good. Mizzou was borderline great.

And AU was AU.

4 SEC teams in the top ten. 3 of the 4 could beat any other team in the country most likely.

Yep. Down year.

That's actually true ... but lest we not forget, it is a higher level of parity than most can comprehend.

It will not be clear to the rest of the world until the day we sweep every one of the bowls in which we participate and go 9-0 or 10-0 or whatever.

Could it happen this year? If it does, then my theory will be proved correct.

It is a scientifically proven fact that any year Auburn wins the SEC championship, the "SEC was down" that year.

If that 80 yard field goal Nick tried was good, all you would hear would be about how amazing it was that bama was able to go through the meat grinder that is the best league in America unscathed.

We all know what happened with that kick, and at that moment, the SEC became "down this year".

Four teams finished the regular season in the Top Ten ... please name another year when we had more finish the regular season in the Top Ten? I mean last year, 2012 set the record with six in the final regular season Top 11 and five in the final Top Ten in January. That was a record year.

So I guess only having four there this year is a down year. Yet, if you really want to squash the argument, it could be said that having so many different teams finish in the Top Ten in the past few years signifies depth, deeper strength, than any other conference in America. There are always a handful of programs, as different as they may be, in the SEC willing to step up to Top Ten level of play ... and/or championship level of play.

Because it was.

It's still probably the best conference in the nation, but I don't think you can honestly say it was as strong as ever with LSU, UF, UT, and UGA all having 3+ losses.
