Why do LSU fans let Bama define their season?

Win or lose it's just one game, and it counts the same as every SEC West game. Yet LSU fans get more hyped with hope for the Bama game than any all year, and then are universally ready to throw the entire season in the trash when Bama pulls out another win.

I honestly think LSU can beat them this year, but if not the turning on a dime from "I have so much hope in this team" to "O sucks, fire everyone, who cares about the rest of the games?" is jarring to anyone who isn't bipolar.

I don't get it.

Why do A&M fans nestle up on Bama pole and scream "Ride em Aggie!" so often ?

Simple. They are entitled and they think they have Bama level talent so they feel like they should expect Bama level results. They will fire everyone that isn't putting out like Nick until Nick retires.

Because we have an ingrained inferiority complex that is baggage from our history.

We are easy to understand in comparison to LSU fans.

What is wrong with a serious question that is trying to make sense of what happens this week every year?

Usually LSU is very much alive to win the West before the Bama game. It's huge because you either come out of the game in a great spot to win the division or you are essentially eliminated.

The same reason Bama goes on to lose the sugar bowl after a loss eliminates them from their goal of a NC. The team isn't inspired to play when their goals are off the table.

We know

LSU fans define their season on winning the SEC. Bama has been the biggest obstacle to doing so since 07.

12 years ago, Auburn was our biggest obstacle and bama was nothing but a roadbump.

I understand if you still don't get it though. It usually takes an act from God to convince bama fans the world doesn't revolve around them.

I get why this is hard for you to understand. You are in your first year of being relevant. And If I dig through your post, I'm sure I'll find some star alignment shite talk....

We value this game because we like to compete. We don't shy away from greatness. They are the benchmark of the SEC. Why wouldn't you talk this game up? Why wouldn't you be excited to have the best team is college football come to your house to Duke it out? They are the Champs... Are you a puss, man? Geez, the name of the game is "Win." Are you OK with mediocrity?

Get it now????? Polly not....

Not in 2010 or 2013. Auburn won the West those years.

I feel like there is a leap in logic I am fundamentally not seeing and that is why I ask.

real simple set of answers if you're a real tiger fan u already know - 1) gotta beat the best to be the best 2) saban 3) local blue chippers that they land unlike any other D1 team & the excitement that it creates during the recruiting process 4) last but not least, the morons from La. that rep Bama - sorry, i'll never comprehend that

It's the biggest game of the season. God forbid LSU fans get hyped up for it and want to win it.
