Why didn't PAC 12 make a bigger move for the Aggies?

Not a troll they were a great addition for us, and would have been awesome for the PAC as well.

They did, we were supposed to go with Texas to the PAC in 2010. We wanted to go to the SEC.

you know conferences probably look for SOME, even casual tie to the region, right?

Why would the PACIFIC conference get a team from texas? Why not stop there and just make coast to coast conferences? We got Boston college this weekend before heading out to colorado next week, rough league schedule this year.

Texas TVs and recruiting

Everything is a flight anyway. I heard on XM they should push for Houston which almost made sense. Makes you realize how valuable Aggies are to us.

They never really courted us at all. They courted Texas, and when we asked about it those bastards patted us on the head and said "we got you covered." We called the SEC the next day.

The funny thing about it is that Texas in a way helped us get away. You see, them plus Rice sponsored us for the AAU, and in those meetings our president sat next to the UF president and got to hear how awesome the SEC was.

When Texas tried to force us into this PAC it was this UF connection that got us to Mike Slive's desk, and the rest is history.

frick Cali and its fricking liberal bullshite.

Nah. The SEC is in Missouri. The Big 12 is in West Virginia. The west coast PAC 12 is in Colorado.

Geography took a back seat to money long ago.

All trolling aside it was a huge win for the SEC, and I think honestly for the Aggies.

They were Pac bound with Texas, then Missouri came with a secret offer to let them tag along to the SEC.

No one says no to Mizzou.

Oh for sure it was huge for us.

The ten years prior to our SEC move we never ONCE beat OU in the recruiting rankings. Not once.

Every single year since we have been above them in the recruiting rankings, and being the westmost SEC school has opened the door in places like Arizona and Cali for kids there who want to compete against the best.

It remade our program overnight from being a joke to being a contender.

Mizzou is also AAU which college presidents like.

In fact on academics the SEC is now more prestigious than the Big 12.

Sad story LSU is always going to be the poors especially if the decline continues. Football actually improved our academics with the money influx

We have always wanted TAMU. Slive gave them an open invite. Arky and USCe were like our 3-4 choice. We really didn't want either school. If irc, TAMU and FSU were our top pick(s) in '92.
