Why did UGA just not hire Pruitt as HC?

To have just gotten the top D Coordinator in all of college football as HC, all the talk is on who they bring in as DC. With the superb defensive mind of Kirby Smart, why is the discussion not more on who the OC is gonna be? You would think defense is the least of the worries.

When Bama hired Saban, no one worried who the DC was gonna be. When UF hired Muschamp, no one wondered who the DC was gonna be. When they hired McElwain, no one wondered who the OC was gonna be. When USC hired Spurrier, no one worried who the OC was gonna be. When AU hired Gus, no one worried who the OC was gonna be. When Ole Miss hired Freeze, no one worried who the OC was gonna be. When MSU hired Mullen, no one worried who the OC would be.

Why is all the focus on a potential DC when your new HC is responsible for the best defense in the history of CFB?

Pruitt is scum in the coaching world. Dude will cut anybody's throat for anything. He was actively telling UGA boosters that he would do a better job than Richt DURING the season

Why does Auburn have a high school OC as their head coach?

Not worried. But we've got a good one and would like to keep him. And if we don't we'll probably take yours so you should be pulling for us to

Someone better than Muschamp, according to your previous posts.

But he's an inept psychopath I thought? Shouldn't your star defensive guru be able to handle it? Or was he riding the midget's coattails?

Because fans have zero impact on the actual hiring process, and talking about Pruitt and Muschamp is more interesting than throwing out potential OC names.

Secret Agent Muschamp is a psychopathic football terrorist who destroys quarterbacks.

Muschamp at Georgia is a brother in the Church of the Dawgs and is a fine example of doing the Lord's work by carrying out "missions" before returning home.

That may be true, but I believe he was the cattle prod that woke up the program from the slumber Richt put it in with the losing is not that big of a deal mentality. Pruitt was the only on the staff losing his mind after the 3 lose October they went through, the rest were in lockstep with Richt, (well sometimes things don't go your way, you don't always reach your goals, that's life) Pruitt couldn't understand that way of thinking, after being with NC winning teams at Bama and FSU. I know it's not likely to happen but I really hope Smart keeps Pruitt at UGA.

You would think the offensive hire would be more important than the defensive hire when the new HC comes from a defensive background. Especially when the previous complaint from the Richt Era was it had become stagnant.

It is more important. There's just not much to talk about at the moment.

Again, for all his rumored personality flaws- I think he's now the best DC in the SEC. Players love him, recruits want to play for him. I hope we keep him

To be fair Muschamo had 2 baller DCs at Florida. Dan Quinn and Durkin.

He burned the Saban bridge with his actions before he even left the state.

The Michigan rumor may be his only option, if there's any merit to it.

So you think Kirby is a product of Saban? Or you think Kirby's success is dependent on a DC he brings in?

I think Kirby and Pruitt give us the two best defensive minds in the country. I think defense wins in the SEC. I think Kirby won't have the luxury of devoting 70 hours a week to defense. Thats what I think.
