Why did Maurice Smith want to leave Alabama?

All information I have seen indicates he would have been the starting nickel back. Other than against LSU and Arkansas, Alabama primarily plays a nickel defense. When you would essentially play as much at UA as UGA (I understand he would be termed a starter, most likely, at UGA), why would you leave? All joking aside, if you want to win a ring and get drafted as a db for the NFL, why leave UA for UGA?

Smith was practicing today for the dawgs, I believe he was working at the nickel. He did win a ring last season and got his degree from Bama, he seems like a good kid but his mother has come across a little nutty to say the least. He wanted to transfer to Baylor then the shite hit the fan in Waco, all of this would have been a non story if he ended up with the Bears.

Are you under the impression that only Alabama players get drafted? because, believe it or not Georgia players do, too. So do Florida players, LSU, A&M....lots of people get drafted that never played for Alabama.
Maybe he doesn't get along with Pruitt, or your new DB Coach?

Read about his comments to Nick after Saban told him he was penciled in as as starter. He obviously didn't trust him anymore.

Obviously you did not watch Finebaum for the past 8 days. He dissected this from 1001 different angles. Get over it. No one cares but bama fans, and only because it made Nicky look bad. Not even UGA fans care this much. MOVE ON.
