So far this offseason all I've heard is that Auburn won't be as good as last year and that they have no shot at the playoffs. Why not?

We won't auburn will finish 4th in the sec because we got lucky last year and people have film on our offense. and last but not least we won't catch anyone by surprise this year!

Maybe because auburn hasn't had a dominant team ?

They were lucky as hell to be there last year.

That said, they are very good and it wouldn't surprise me at all if they make the playoffs this year.

Everyone knows that AU should've lost 4 games last season, luck Always goes the opposite way the following year.

It's certainly possible, but IMO auburn "snuck up" on everyone last year and before you knew it they were 9-1...10-1, etc....

And it goes without saying auburn had some crazy crazy good luck in the Georgia game and to a lesser extent the Bama game.

Auburn gonna be good again probably, but they won't be sneaking up on anyone this year.

Nothing says they can't. Odds are they won't, but they've got as good a shot as anyone in the conference.

Have a lot of people really said AU has no chance this year? What a whiny arse thread.

I don't know why they wouldn't be. Most of the other SEC teams lost their starting QB's. I can safely say that I don't expect our offense to be as productive without Murray and though I am pleased with what I have seen so far with Pruitt as our new DC, I think Pruitt will need at least a season or two to get his players on defense.

There was a good amount of luck in the Georgia game, but don't the Auburn fans ever get tired of constantly being associated with luck and cheating?

If this were 100 years ago, I'd buy that.

Lost their best runnignback in a RB heavy offense.

Nick Marshall is less accurate than a weatherman.

Their luck has run out.

AU will have a very solid team next year, mostly because Gus is an elite coach. However, a huge part of why they won last year was the ability to surprise teams who were not ready for their style. I don't think they will sneak up on anyone this year.

Can I quote you on that? We need an injury free year this year!

People have a year's worth of film on Auburn. You really don't think that SEC defensive coordinators aren't going to figure out their offense with a YEAR'S worth of film? Please.
