Why aren't the arrests being covered more?

No mention on ATH or PTI. It's like the 7th listed story on ESPN. CBS doesn't even cover it until you get to their college sports page... and even then, it's story #6.

Is it just a busy day in sports? Or is this really not that newsworthy?

It's not a huge story. Most media members aren't LSU fans

Because this story is massive to LSU fans and kinda sorta interesting to everyone else. Go look at the 1000 responses thread at the top of the page. It's nearly all Gumps and Corndogs. If it was a bigger story, it be getting better play.

Or it could just be the REC flexing their muscle again.

I'm not sure what you want but I'm afraid to most LSU fans the coverage could never be enough. Anywhooo, to answer your question.

It's been covered. I done know who missed it. Should it be the lead story on the evening news? ( oh if only Tom Brokaw were still the NBC anchor)..Of course not.
You also have the NBA playoffs going on and some controversy with that today. What more can you say? two guys look to have committed a felony and if convicted will serve time. At the end of the day they didnt kill anyone or rape anyone. They should be incarcerated for being stupid if nothing else.

The sad thing about this is this. On sirius radio the other day they were talking about players graduating and the end of school. The anchor said "now let the arrests begin".
This is just the beginning for many schools. There will be more arrests through the summer and I'd be surprised if we made it to next week without somebody, somewhere being arrested.

I personally dont see how its so difficult to keep from being arrested, to keep from having weed, to keep from having a stolen handgun, to keep from beating women and to stay straight. never been arrested in my life.

The pressure to win is so great on everybody now that you have to take chances on kids that are questionable. If not you won't win but you're gonna have some of these every year. Just accept that.
There will be more.

Who doesn't?

In reality, though, it's two college football players getting busted for pot. That's nothing. One of them had a gun that was stolen, that makes it mildly interesting to most people.

It's not like it was a rape or child molestation.

REC doing work as always. Bama has a coach kicked out for NCAA recruiting violations and almost zero coverage. Same here with drugs, two guns, one of which was stolen, limited coverage with carefully worded headlines.

It means more to LSU fans than it does to anyone else especially the police department who thought they needed to have a press conference about the issue until they thought better of it.

the best player on the reigning national championship team....

I get that it's not this huge national story, but it's not even the first story on the CollegeFB frontpages??

A lot of people probably don't know the LT. CamRob is not famous around the country. The guy they would consider the best player on the NC team was probably the guy who won the Heisman.

What you have is a non "superstar" (ie skill player) on a cfb team get arrested for non violent possession. That"s your story. This kind of shite happens like once a week.

Let's not forget about the stolen gun. That's the big charge in all of this.

What I always find amusing when these things happen is how the fans of the certain school involved ALWAYS defend their guys. We all do it but it's still kind of funny.

It's your own damn fault. The national media doesn't even try to compete with you Aubs in breaking Alabama news. They know that you guys have that shite covered.
