Nope.

It was 3 a few years ago. Just based on the voting and which ones separate themselves I believe

They invite based upon the vote spread. Last season, 5 got significant votes. This season...only 3

Usually based on percentage of votes they have received I think.

Didn't want to take too much time away from talking about Johnny.

My understanding is as follows:

They always have at least 3 finalists. Sometimes, when #3 is close to #4, they invite #4. If #4 is close to #5, they may also invite #5.

thanks for the answers.

I just figured they limited it this year due to the economy or rising airfares.

2008. Pretty sure it was only Bradford, Tebow, and McCoy.

I honestly thought that Jordan Lynch at least deserved to be in the mix:

I know they are in the MAC, but
12-1 team
lost 1st game of the season by 1 point in Jordan Lynch's first start at QB!
playing Florida State in the orange bowl

And these stats:

2,962 yds passing 24 tds 5 int 63% comp

1,771 yds rushing (leads ncaa) 19 tds 6.5 yds pc
12 games over 100 yds rushing

That's video game #'s on a 12-1 team that is going to the orange bowl. It's a quarterback that lead the country in rushing yards and had almost 3,000 yards passing. MAC or not, he deserves some recognition.

He does.

Its an absolute travesty that he is currently #6 in votes according to Stiff Arm Trophy. If he had been recruited by and played for a larger school, dang.

Of course if RG3 had gone to a school with some semblance of defense, they would have won a national championship. That dude was pretty badass last year and he's tearing it up in the NFL this year.

If I had a vote, it would be JFF, Lynch, Lee. Jordan Lynch is a badass; criminally overlooked.
