While overall your "D" was very good, you DID give up 35 to LSU and 41 to Michigan.

At this juncture, Florida could absolutely win the East.
I'd no more count 'em out than I would any team in the West ending up in Atlanta as well.
Thinking they "know stuff" is simply what folks on this board do.

(and then aguing about it for 20 pages)

The offensive talent is the best it has been since '09

Florida rankings for total offense in SEC by year:

2015 - 10th - 2015
2014 - 13th - 2014
2013 - 14th - 2013
2012 - 11th - 2012
2011 - 9th - 2011
2010 - 10th - 2010

Best Florida offensive talent since 2010...aren't you the skinniest girl at fat camp? Florida's offense has been below average since 2009 (when they were 1st). Any success they have had since then has been because of defense. While the offense will probably improve under McElwain...I don't know that I can say the same about defense.

Florida rankings for total defense in SEC by year:

2015 - 2nd - 2015
2014 - 6th - 2014
2013 - 12th - 2013
2012 - 9th - 2012
2011 - 6th - 2011
2010 - 10th - 2010

With Florida losing 2 dbs and a DE to the NFL, I just don't know that the defense will be as good as it was last year and I don't know that the offensive improvement will offset the losses from last year's D.

Former Elite 11 prospect who looked pretty good in Spring Game.

But meh.

Florida has had an impressive run of Elite 11 QBs:

Brock Berlin - Transferred to Miami
Ingle Martin - Transferred to Furman
Gavin Dickey - Who?????
Chris Leak - Won a NC
Justin Midgett - Transferred to Eastern Illinois
Cornelius Ingram - Drafted as a TE
Tim Tebow - Heisman Trophy, NC
John Brantley - Nuff said
Jeff Driskell - Transferred to Louisiana Tech
Austin Appleby - Via transfer from Purdue
Luke Del Rio - Via transfer from Oregon State, where he transferred to from Alabama
Will Grier - Transferred to West Virginia
Feliepe Franks - True Freshman

Well...at least you don't have to worry about two of your Elite 11 QBs transferring out of Florida....since they don't have enough eligibility left to do that after their other transferrs. Anybody have a pool on when and to where Franks transfers?

Who's sleeping on UF? They'll either finish 2nd or 3rd in the East. We (well at least some of us) believe that their new QB and new RB and experienced OL will be better than last year, but it's all based on potential. Their defense should be about the same as well, but they weren't nearly as good as their record indicated.

They won the East last year on the shear fact that it was weak AF. They went 2-4 vs ranked teams.

Honestly, if Tennessee wasn't so loaded this year it would be a toss up between UGA and UF for the East like it has been for most of the last 10 years.

Probably b/c a lot of Muschamp's great defenders left this year, and Beaver can't coach or recruit them like him. Last year's florida team lived off of Muschamp's defenders. Their offense was horrible last year after Grier left.

This isn't accurate at all. Those were Sack Rankings, not Total Defense Ranking.

Florida was the 5th Total Defense in 2012 and #2 in the SEC.

UT has a Sr QB and they are good upfront of both sides of the ball, but they lack talent in the secondary and have not produced at WR. Partly because Dobbs has been mediocre and they have not developed any of the big name WRs they have recruited.

They don't lack talent in the secondary, but I agree on the other two fronts. They need a better OC, WR, and QB coach, but these WRs and Dobbs also have to be better themselves. I think Preston Williams will show out this year, and Malone needs to step up.

Their offensive play calling has been bad as well. Shoop is a proven commodity on defense, but UT has auto losses to Bama and UF. UF will hold the tie breaker if they go 6-2.

These aren't auto losses no matter how much you think they are. At Bama last year it was close all game and Henry scored with a little over 2 minutes left to win.

Again close playing @ Florida who scored with about a minute and a half left on clock.

Both games are at home and UT has massive experience returning.

UF beats LSU this year as well, but will lose in Fayetteville.

I'll give you the Meatchicken game but you are dead wrong about our defense...it was handicapped post Grier by a horrible offense that 3 and outed us to death...plus we started and played 3 TRUE frosh OL and we would most of the time have two of them on the field...no offense does well in the SEC with that. The bowl game was a result of our defense giving up before the game started and they had enough of # 3 at QB Im sure.

You LSU fans predicting us to be 3rd or fourth in the east better rethink that logic...whats it say about YOUR team after we spank that kitty azz? Its coming and nothing you can do about it.

People don't actually pay attention. Steller defense. Offense cant be as bad as the end last year Del Rio is at least accurate and we have a more experienced Oline and Wr group is a year older as well. So defense will be about the same, offense will be better.

So let people throw their eggs in one basket. Anyone with a brain knows Butch Jones will crack those eggs with gameday mistakes that cost Tenn. Dude is embarassingly bad during the game. That chart!!!!! Lol

A lot of uneducated posters are devaluing our defensive returners....not wise. We have two CBs in the secondary who will go pro early and one is sure fire first rounder and add Marcus Maye (# 20) a safety who is draft bait. DL? It is loaded..Caleb Brantley, Bryan Cox jr, Joey Ivie, Jordan Sherit and CeCe Jefferson will throw up a wall and there are many others for depth rotation. Cox and Brantley spent the entire Ole Miss game last year in their backfield.
LB? Not as much experienced depth...but Alex Anzalone,

The bottom line is this...even if UT wins in Neyland, they will poop their pants at least twice afterwards and Gator fans will be posting a lot of "1-11-0" comebacks.

They have proven that they will, and have lost to some of the worst UF teams in 50 years over the current 11 game losing streak. The Vo12s will lose this year to a pretty good Gator team.

IMO Trask is going to be the next starter at UF after Del Rio. Tons of arm talent and is way ahead of Franks on understanding the offense.
