Seriously why? Do y'all miss the Big XII? Your school makes a lot more money in the SEC, but your fans on here bitch and bitch about being in the SEC. Texas A&M fans don't do that. I would think y'all would much prefer a fair conference like the SEC to the Longhorn Conference, but I guess not.

A&M has been a natural fit. They should have been in a long time ago.

Social Justice Warrior syndrome. No matter what the situation, they always think that they are being disenfranchised.

Bama has a lot of SJWs too though. I should say not every Missouri poster hates it in the SEC, but a fair number of them really hate it. The only advantages I see to being in the Big XII is nostalgia for old rivalries and Big XII basketball is better at the moment, but that's changing.

There's nothing triggered about this post. It's a serious question.

Good question.

With the warm, glad-to-have-you welcome Mizzou received (from the very fricking moment it was announced) by the fans of the other SEC schools, it's hard to understand.

We don't. When you have rednecks like SavageOrangeCuck trashing on Mizzou multiple hours every day, it may seem like that when Mizzou posters respond. But no, the SEC is much better than the Big 12.

In general, the fan base is fine with being in the SEC. Around here we've grown tired of the constant BS, so the natural reaction is to say frick you guys.

I don't think anyone here hates being in the league, they hate the posters on here that perpetuate bullshite.

A&M wasn't given a warm welcome either. They fought back for about a year. Even bought a billboard in Gainesville about academics or something, but after a year, they integrated.

If you read Missouri publications, you see that most Mizzou fans are indeed glad to be in the SEC. They have been largely alienated here on tRant by unrelenting hateful comments because ot the SJW tragedy that befell them. Before that it was just Scrooster who taunted the Mizzourites. After that it was legion. Mizzou was a good add to the conference and will be around long after memory of the SJW disaster dies away.

I hadn't thought about it like that. I think that stupid thing has created a defensive Missouri fanbase.

Obviously.

I think we'd prefer to just move on and leave it in the past. It was a fracturing moment for everyone.

But it's the go to put down around these parts, so frick you whatever, I'm over it.

If you're school was CONSTANTLY berated day after day after day over the same thing for going on two years now you'd probably push back too. We are sick of the shite.

Nobody misses the fricking Big 12. Get real dude. The Big 8 maybe, but going back to that was never an option. So here we are.

I dare say that any SEC fan base would become defensive if something like happened on their school's campus. I'm just glad the Internet wasn't around in the late 80s, early 90s when UK was going through the, um, money scandal. Lordy mercy, that would have been awful.

I'm sure that's a sticking point with a minority of their fans but you have to understand that they lost almost all of their old rivalries at once while A&M fans had dealt with the slow burn of money destroying CFB rivalries for a couple of decades.

Losing Texas, Tech, and Baylor wasn't as tough b/c we'd already lost SMU, TCU, Houston, and Rice. Also, we gained back two lost rivalries with LSU and Arkansas.

Mizzou on the other hand had hardly played SEC teams over the years to the point that several years in A&M is still the SEC team they have played the most w/just 15 games on the books.
