Why are LSU folks so confident about having a championship team in 2016?

You have a HC and OC that you don't want, a DC that had 59 points hung on him in his last championship game, a meh QB, an O-line that melts against real competition, and a light D. Fournette can't win it by himself.
Bama, OM, and the Pigs are almost guaranteed losses.
I see a 4th place finish in the West at best.

They think every year that they are a championship team. 8 weeks later, they are calling for Miles. Same story different year.

You know damn well why.
History means nothing to this season, unless you want to say this class is hungrier than ever.
The talent LSU returns > Bama's this year since we finally don't lose 1/2 our team to the draft.
Law of averages: you're not getting lucky prayers like JC Copeland fumbles in your end zone, or desperation tosses to the flat late in the 4th qtr to your RB on 3rd & Chavis.
I have more, but will let you digest that before you get sea sick on your bubba Gump shrimp boat

Fournette and who else? Dupree ? You still have an unproven QB.

Why aren't Bamas players hungry? Or Georgia's? Or Auburns. And lol at your talent comment.

You're right we should honestly just skip next season

Harris has had a chance to prove a lot. He just proved he isn't that good. A one deminsional power running game is hard to maintain through an SEC schedule.

The word around baton rouge is that Miles is mixing up his offense scheme. I find it hard to believe that but if they do go to a spread look, they might be alright

That would be interesting. Unless Harris really steps it up they will have a tough time down the stretch. They did added probably the best deep threat WR in this recuriting class in my opinion. Davis will be special if he stays focus on football.

Because they return almost all of their starters/two-deep and have a great class coming in. I think they'll be very good this fall, and they certainly have a shot at winning it all. It will be interesting to see how their D looks, especially in the 3-4 since they bring in a new DC and are thin at LB. Will the OL/DL get pushed around again by physical teams like Bama and Arkansas? We'll see.
Harris obviously has to make the jump. As talented as they are, I'm not sure they can win it all unless he improves. As for Les, there are no more excuses this year. It's put up or shut up time. You could make the argument that he has underachieved, post-2007, with the talent he has every year. It's no secret that he's not exactly Einstein when it comes to X's and O's and managing the clock, so it would take him really screwing things up for LSU to lose more than 2 games. There's no excuse for LSU to lose more than 2 games this year with the roster that they have, even if Harris is nothing special this year. If they do lose more than 2, I think you gotta start to look at the coach.

This is true.
But we'll still beat A&M

Ok.. GUARANTEED he says..I'm not saying we will win a championship, but how can you honestly say we will certainly lose those games? We are a veteran team that CAN really make a run. I agree that it is stupid to claim a team will win the championship hands down! Most LSU fans don't think like this though..

Well yea, it's called being a fan.
What do State fans think before the season starts, " I'm excited about a 5th place finish!"? frick that.

Because they are stupid?

A lot of players come back
New DC hire
Manageable schedule (no consecutive road games)
What should we be confident for instead, frickstick?
