Gurley is the closest RB to a 1st rd pick in recent yrs, but I don't get the confidence in Hutson Mason. Dylan Thompson has more experience & the dawgs are installing a new defense w an overhauled secondary. (No troll)

Not sure where you getting this. USCe seems to be a popular pick.

Think SC wins, but I don't see UGA having problems on O. Mason will be fine for them. Don't disagree with your post completely

I think it's a coin flip between the two in terms of who is getting picked but I can see why.

With road games @UF and @AU we may beat UGA and still not win the East (again)

If Florida gets its shite together on O, going to be some damn good games in the east

It's just the faith they put in the talent we usually have. Also even though it is a new defense the general consensus is that Pruitt is a major step up from Grantham.

Mason doesn't have to be totally spectacular also, Gurley and Co can carry a good bit of the load. We just need some decent work out of the play action from Mason and for him to manage the game.

Our OL and Secondary are my biggest concerns. We lost some exp. on the line and our secondary is decimated from transfers/Athens-Clarke County PD/and Pruitt cracking the whip a little too hard.

I personally feel a 9-3 or 10-2 season with a 2nd place SEC East finish behind SC.

I could def see the Gators being the SEC team that surprises everyone this yr, but they will have the same issue w bringing in a new coordinator. <2 months

So many talented teams, it will come down to who wants it the most.

They had the best running game from the East in 2013.

Who has the best running game in 2014?
Missouri loses the most rushing TDs (Josey and Franklin).
UGA and USCe return of ground power on offense.

Well typically if South Carolina beats Georgia then Georgia normally wins the east. And if Georgia beats South Carolina then South Carolina still doesn't win the east. So in conclusion Georgia is a safe bet to always be ahead of South Carolina.

Pretty much. But history shows that the winner of the border bash game has no effect on the east outcome because South Carolina just won't win the division regardless.

I would guess he meant USCe. At least I'm assuming he didn't mean ours was better.

Well, I'm not expecting miracles but I think with Pruitt simplifying the D and just letting them play that we'll see some improvement on that side. The O will be fine. All Mason has to do is turn around and hand the ball off and hit the play action pass a few times a game to keep them honest and we'll be fine.
