Why all the hype for Chad Kelly?

He's really not that good.
Not to show any ACC bias, but I think Trubisky and Watson are the best college QBs. Browning only looks good because Washington's o-line and running game was so much better than most of the Pac-12's defenses that he had a lot of moments to shine, and Kelly doesn't impress me at all.
TBH, I don't think any QB coming out of college this year is gonna be good in the NFL. If it happens, I think it'll be some late round gem like Seth Russell from Baylor or former UK QB Patrick Towles.

He would make a pretty darn good TE if he could be convinced to block.
I'm not sure a career 34 TD/30 INT ratio or a career 52% completion rate suggests that he will be a "gem" at QB, late round or otherwise.

Towles has all the physical tools to make it happen. I remember watching a few Kentucky games where he was benched or came off the bench. If I were the Kentucky coach, he'd be my four year starter easily even if he goes through bad stretches. Confident BC will win its bowl game behind him.

I don't buy Towles's stats either. Kentucky and BC are bad teams. I haven't watched him at all this year, but I recall him being either beastly or wildly erratic with UK.
Can't say I completely buy Trubisky given the favorable offense he plays in, but you can see all the passing talent is there.

Kelly was a third string QB at Clemson that got butthurt because he wasn't good enough and got kicked off the team...most people see why know...he's a punk

Lmao he was third string at Clemson? Didn't even know that. Well there's nothing about him that strikes me as an NFL QB. At least with Trubisky and Watson I see throws that make me go

Watson is kinda skinny for an NFL QB though. Bigger scramblers than Watson get hurt for those dual-threat antics in the pros.

It is true..During the Spring Game he threw a temper tantrum and literally got in the grill of Chad Morris on the sideline and ended up in Dabo's office...Dabo was going to suspend him but Kelly wouldn't let it go and Dabo's told him to pack his shite and hit the road...

Good on Dabo. Watson is the best QB Clemson's had.

Chad's arm talent is NFL caliber.
My concern would lay in the remarks made by Laquon Treadwell, when he said that he'd never seen or heard of a route tree and that the passing game was a lot more complicated than he thought.
Maybe Kelly can handle a more complex O, maybe not

In all fairness he was the second best QB and it was not that close. Stoudt was promised an opportunity so that he would stick around. He played most of the season hurt but he was never going to be better than CK. We would have had a better season with Chad at QB but the writing was on the wall that Watson was going to be the future face of the program. Tribusky is overrated as hell. When Kiper hypes a guy that hard it is most often times the kiss of death. I'd like to see Watson fall to a good team and sit 1-2 years.
