I know they finished strong last year. But i've seen people put Arkansas and championship in the same sentence. Do people really believe that? Bret Bielema is 10-15 overall and 2-14 in the SEC. His two SEC wins were over Ole Miss with a hurt Bo Wallace and a down LSU team. They also lost their 3 best defensive players Speight, Flowers, and Philon. Does anyone really think they can contend??

I must have missed the legitimate hype. It appears you've been sailed on.

Nah, but they'll be another tough out and probably win 8 games this year.

Don't get us wrong, we don't think they'll contend in the way the top tier schools contend. They'll contend in the way Ole Miss and A&M contend.

Hurt Bo Wallace?

Bielema's past record means little in the upcoming season, he is steadily bringing us out of the Petrino dumpster fire

I haven't seen or heard any championship hype though

Nation's best defense.
5th year senior quarterback.
Two NFL running backs.
Biggest O-line in football.

Those are some of the reasons. Plus Bielema is an elite coach.

He isn't a elite SEC coach.

Yeah. I'd take Gus too. Not to say Beilema isn't good but I expect a statue to be erected of whatever coach can get Arkansas to a NC game.

Bret is a very good coach from an organization stand point, players seem to like him, players are staying out of trouble for him for the most part so far, and early on he seems to show above average skills at hiring solid assistants.

On the other hand it was his decision to keep B Allen in at QB against Missouri when it was clear to everyone that he was too injured to be effective and it probably cost us that game and the chance to win our last four, instead of 3 of 4.

OP forgot to mention our bowl game performance.

Contend is not too strong a word based on how we finished the year and based on what we have coming back.
