Why Alabama wins the title

Every National Champion since 2002 has had at least one top 5 class on that team.
Here are the classes of the contenders:
Clemson - 15, 15, 17, 8
Alabama - 1, 1, 1, 1
Iowa - 40, 58, 59, 59
Michigan State - 33, 35, 25, 22
Oklahoma - 12, 16, 14, 14
Looking ahead to 2016, the following teams have at least one top 5 class on their roster:
Alabama (x4)
Ohio State (x3)
Florida
Michigan
Notre Dame
LSU (x2)
Florida State (x3)
Texas A&M
USC
Tennessee
Georgia (x2)

I honestly don't think we are going to win it. Never thought we had a good enough offensive line. Need good match ups.

Exactly. The Bama program is perfect in every way imaginable. No way they lose to any team not named Ole Miss.

That's just it - Recruiting Services didn't start ranking teams until 2002, so there's no data before then.
If I had to guess, I'd say BYU in 1984?

OU won it in 01 with a bunch of 3* recruits after a horrible decade in the 90s. Its all coaching and Talent development.

OU didn't win anything in 2001. MIAMI won that title.
Show me a link to any recruiting services prior to rivals in 2002 that support your claim.

Reasons Bama wins:
1. QB is tough. Toughness at this position is very underrated. You must have a guy who will not go fetal when the lights are on.
2. They find their best player on offense and build around him. This year it's Henry. Last year Cooper.
3. Always win the line of scrimmage. Everything starts up front. They are 2 or 3 deep on both lines.
4. They play well in big moments. Composure and poise. Even their loses are close. I think USCe beat them by 2 scores in 2010. That is their last 2 score defeat.
5. Saban has created an aura. Most teams shrink in their presence. It is what it is. If you think you can, you can. If you think you can't- you're a fetus.

He means the 01 championship game, not the 01 season. They won the championship during the '00 season, but won the championship in '01.
