Are we talking all sports? Rowdy Gaines went to auburn and was an Olympic swimmer. Other than that I don't know although I feel as if I'm forgetting someone big

I am. Originally from Cleveland, MS. Don't really call that home anymore. But I guess I could say Ken Lucas for Cleveland. I haven't lived there since like 2004 though.

These are all good ones in sports and Im not sure who is more famous:
Dennis "oil can" Boyd-baseball
Jay Powell-baseball
Dexter Mccluster-football
Kenyatta Walker-football
Kenny Smith-football

But Sela Ward or Jimmy Rogers probably wins it

Satchel Paige, Ozzie Smith, Hank Aaron, and Willie McCovey are the guys that come to mind quickly. Guess Mobile is a Baseball town.

Depends on which sport you're talking about.

I was born and raised in Northport, Al which is what I would classify as a rural area of Tuscaloosa.

Football - LeRon MClain

Baseball - Frank Lary (the Yankee killer)
