You should've gone out to see for yourself. Life is short. Especially for you old timer.

The city of Phoenix is okay. The surrounding areas have some nice hikes/nature and some top-end spas. The reasons it is chosen as a host site are b/c the weather is great this time of year, the city is large enough to have all the necessary amenities (enough hotel rooms, restaurants, bars), and they have a pretty nice climate controlled stadium.
It is a very pleasant place to spend several days in January. Not as fun/exciting as NOLA, Miami, or Southern California, but I would rather go there than Atlanta or Dallas.

I'm not impressed with Scottsdale. Atmosphere isn't great because everyone is spread out.
Out of the four locations this is the worst.

Went to a couple of conferences on South Mountain. It was nice. Other than that, I prefer Tempe to Phoenix or Scottsdale. Never been to Glendale

Ok, but not great. Not a college city - they are not interested.

It is basically Ohio South as in people from Ohio have moved there and taken it over. Unless Ohio State is playing there, it is a pretty boring place.
