You're only saying that because it's a glorified Auburn campus.

I think LSU because in the civil war, a Louisiana regiment was nicknamed the tigers because of the way they fought

Who has the best home winning percentage in the respective Death Valleys?

Let the team with the best lay claim to the title. And you LSUers still have to count the Bama games toward your total.

Is Clemson the biggest underachieving program of all time? Do you see the talent they put in the NFL and the talent they annually get through those recruiting classes? The ACC has been a joke lately too, I just don't get it.

Probably Clemson, but it isn't all that clear. What is clear is that Clemson was first tagged as Death Valley by the coach at Presbyterian College in the 1940s and promoted by Clemson in the 1950s.

The origin of Tiger Stadium's nickname is more murky, but the idea that it was first known as Deaf Valley is probably just wrong and a poorly researched assertion. Certainly by the early 1960s, Tiger Stadium was known as Death Valley. It may have been earlier. Some have attributed the origin of the nickname to Grantland Rice in the 1930s.
