Who will win the SEC? (basketball)

The contenders:
Kentucky (8-3)
Remaining Schedule:
@ South Carolina
vs. Tennessee
@ Texas A&M
vs. Alabama
@ Vanderbilt
@ Florida
vs. LSU
I'd say UK is the best team in the conference right now, but that remaining schedule is brutal. UK will have to at least split those four road games to have a shot, and that will be extremely tough to do.
LSU (8-3)
Remaining Schedule:
vs. Texas A&M
vs. Alabama
@ Tennessee
@ Arkansas
vs. Florida
vs. Missouri
@ Kentucky
LSU has some games against other contenders, but they get chances for revenge for early-season losses to A&M and Florida at home. The key to their chances here, though, is avoiding road losses to middle-of-the-pack teams Tennessee and Arkansas.
South Carolina (8-3)
Remaining Schedule:
vs. Kentucky
@ Missouri
vs. Florida
vs. Tennessee
@ Mississippi State
vs. Georgia
@ Arkansas
South Carolina has the advantage over other contenders with their schedule. They should be the favorites in every game from here on out.
Florida (7-4)
Remaining Schedule:
vs. Alabama
@ Georgia
@ South Carolina
vs. Vanderbilt
@ LSU
vs. Kentucky
@ Missouri
Another team with a tough schedule, UF is going to have to hold serve at home and steal one in either Columbia or Baton Rouge to have a puncher's chance.
Texas A&M (7-4)
Remaining Schedule:
@ LSU
vs. Mississippi
vs. Kentucky
vs. Mississippi State
@ Missouri
@ Auburn
vs. Vanderbilt
They've been on a slide lately, but the worst stretch of their schedule is over (after today, at least). This team could conceivably go on a six-game winning streak to finish 13-5 and have a chance.
So, Rant, who will it be?

I think we lose @ South Carolina and LSU, but win the rest.

A&M wins out so unless USC or UK only drops 1 more then it'll be A&M.

UK wins today, LSU-UK play for all the marbles in Lexington finale.

That's what I'm leaning towards.
For every team but South Carolina, I think 13-5 is pretty much best-case scenario. But with their schedule I think that's USCe's worst-case.

Based on the utter collapse of our football and baseball programs in recent years, the sports gods would really be doing is a solid with an SEC baskebtall championship.
Which is precisely why I'm not counting on it.
Also, fire Holbrook. I've never been apathetic about the start of Carolina baseball season. But now I am. Thanks, Chad.

South Carolina has the best shot with majority of their remaining schedule at home. The reality is, whether it's UK or anyone else, it's been absolutely brutal on the road in the SEC this season no matter who you're playing.

That and we already have a tie-breaker over LSU and A&M. But at the same time that could only be good for SEC-T seeding as there might be a number of ties by the end.

We should do well at home. Even if we lose to UK we should win our remaining home games with UF being the most difficult. With that said I'm still not convinced that we will suddenly play well on the road. Even if it is @Mizzou, MSU, and Arkansas.
Maybe I'm just a pessimist or just trying to psyche myself up for how the season could actually end but I wouldn't be surprised to see UK in it. They've still got the most pure talent, they've been playing well lately, and well.. they're UK. We're fortunate about their schedule.

Why did you leave Vandy off this list? We are only 2 back and may have the most talented team, not to mention a reasonable final home stretch.

I want to believe.

Probably cos there are several teams ahead of you in the pack. Vandy is good, but they didn't do themselves any favors with early in-conference losses.

A&M and USCe have easiest remaining schedules. UK's schedule is rough.
I think we have a tie at the top when it's all said and done at 13-5.
