Not gonna respond to the rest because I know what you mean and there have been plenty of posts saying the same thing ive read before. We have been going through the same thing with our o-line. Dooley didn't recruit there for squat and we are still suffering despite having some pretty stacked guys at skill positions.

Its just so much easier to boil it down to what I said previously because this is a message board and its fun to

Just googled the schedule and it's still weird as hell given how our games are traditionally scheduled. We play UK after Bama. While Mizzou is our 3rd to last game LSU is slotted as the 2nd to last game which is usually UK's spot.

I like that it's a lot easier in terms of breaking up our games. It's a lot better than the typical 4 game stretch of insanity and breaks up the games a lot better which should make it a lot easier on the team mentally and physically than going through all your tough games back to back and hoping to come out alive.

UGA has the better talent, Neyland turf wont help them this time.
Might be a blow out.

UT thinks they have a QB but not really and def unproven.

I have UT at 7 wins max.

UGA at 10 wins confidently, 11 max if the ball bounces the right way.

I am not surprised that someone who goes by Dawg4Life47 on the internet is a full blown delusional homer

his post was extremely homer-ific (and I don't agree with much of it), but I mean cmon dude a UT fan on this board can't really talk about other fans being homers.

Yeah, I'm not complaining. I wish we'd flip our UF and UK game as well.

I would say VOLS posters otb are, for the most part, quite realistic and can easily laugh at themselves. We just know how to board better than most.

Actually, he's right. It's quite hilarious though that the rant still hasn't figured out after all these years that we're fricking with you. So many still believe Phil and everyone else actually believes everything they post and react as though they walked in on him fricking their wife every time he posts a link.

David Ricky speaking the truth... c'mon man. You're doing it wrong D4L47... Offseason championships are for UT... and maybe Mizzou now? I seem to recall a thread indicating something to that effect at least.

UGA is a big pool of question marks this year... I think there is very good upside, but a lot of things have to go right.

Kirby - is he better in year 2? History would say probably yes... coaches in year 2 (even not great ones) typically show their biggest improvement in their second season with a team.

Offensive Line - Yes it loses 3 starters, but one of those starters last year was a grad transfer from an FCS school who might has well have been on roller skates with as much as he got pushed around and beat. RT and C positions are more concerning, as I don't envision us being worse at LT than we were last year. I don't think this is going to be answered during spring given the guys we have coming in this summer, but this is probably the biggest single task... Given *how bad* that line played last year, I wouldn't anticipate a dropoff in performance, but expecting it to be significantly better is certainly on the optimistic side.

Offensive gameplan - Jim Chaney has a lot to prove this year. Playcalling last year was not good... sure he was hamstrung a bit with a freshman QB, poor OL, and WRs that flat out couldn't catch a ball at times, but the number of times we ran up the middle into a stacked box was atrocious. He *has* to be better this year, or in my opinion his hire was as bad as it looked on the surface and he needs to go. Initial reports from spring practice are that we're adding wrinkles and that Eason is capable of making changes at the line which we just couldn't do last year, so I'm cautiously optimistic that it will be better on this front... how much is yet to be determined.

Passing game - Who is going to be the deep threat? Is it even possible with our OL to give Eason enough time to throw a deep ball and can he be accurate (not falling/throwing off his back foot)? If it gets there... will they catch it? We had some major issues here last season, between WR personnel that could catch but not block and vice versa, poor OL play, and a Fr. QB it was a fustercluck at times. We are going to need Ridley to continue to play at a high level and stay healthy... Godwin is going to have to not piss off coaches and block so that he can play enough offensive possessions to remain dangerous. I think we should be better on this end from the sheer standpoint of any *one* of those situations improving will be a step in the right direction... how much better I kick back to Chaney... evaluate what you have and figure out what is going to work. Reasonably I expect better passing numbers this year just from year 2 of Eason, though it might not be by much if we don't see significant improvement in at least one of the other areas.

Defense - Mostly not true question marks here, but how much improvement can be had... Assuming Trent Thompson is back for summer and at a healthy weight, I feel good about the DL. OLB is the biggest "question mark" - are Davin Bellamy and Lorenzo Carter just going to be "good" or is a guy like Zo going to take the next step and be the freak that so many expected when he got recruited. If Zo steps up in a big way, then Bellamy and the DL benefits as well. This will likely be the difference between something like 29 sacks like we saw last year and a top 10-15 pass rush of say 40ish sacks (~3/g). The defensive backfield is probably not a true question mark from a production/performance standpoint, but rather who steps up and what kind of contributions can we get from the youngsters (more important in building for 2018). Mo Smith was a big contributor last season, but I believe that the guys we have on campus and the ones coming in should be able to make their presence known at the nickel spot.

I could definitely see UGA having a shot at a 10+ win regular season with the way the schedule shapes up, but so much of that is going to be dependent on most of the above things going right. The downside to the schedule is of course that it's our worse road cycle - with the bigger games of Auburn, UT, and even GT on the road and then the addition of Notre Dame on the road as well.

UT and UF definitely lose a lot of talent this season, but as others have said, at least for this season, it's highly unlikely that a team takes the east running away.

GTFO here.. *SOME* Vols posters on this board are realistic. I'll lump you, Prof, and V&S into this in ~90% of cases (we'll give you ~10% troll time). If your schtick is more than 10% troll, you don't get credit for being realistic or easily laughing at yourself...

So who are your unrealistic Vols posters? You make it sound like they are the majority here.

Phil and Serraneaux alone make up a pretty high percentage of posts from UT peeps on tRant. There are certainly others but I don't really make a habit of keeping up with specific posters. Kraven I think might be one that was in this thread... Also tough to keep up with UT alters... (not to phan levels by any means, but still...)
