Excluding the recent spate of SEC champs-turned-BCS champs over the last decade and a half, who do you pick as the next SEC team to enter the Hall of Champions?

I'd still pick Arkansas as the next "new" champs to win the MNC (again, for those of you who don't read closely, that excludes previous champs UT, UF, LSU, Bama, and Auburn). However, my expectations for the Razorbacks have deflated faster than a Petrino alibi. My second guess would be USCe. I think one day Spurrier will put it all together and create a championship team.

This year, though, will again be the Year of the Tiger (but not the Auburn or Missoui type)

While I would say Arky or USCe is more likely this year. I will go with UGA for my answer. For one, like you said

If I had to pick one I'd say Georgia.

Georgia unless the SEC finally decides to make them play the big boys from the west.

UGA or maybe USCe if they can get it done while Spurrier is still there.

i honestly dont see it happening for a long time, lsu and bama will be the only two SEC teams back and forth in the big game. With the recruits lsu and alabama are getting every year, mixed with the coaching and strength and conditioning programs we have, which is not comparable to any other program, it will be very hard for any other teams IMO. LSU and bama are just so much more physical, fast, and strong than the other competition. the other teams would have to defeat either alabama and lsu or maybe both, and still not lose other SEC games... hard task to do for any team.

Georgia should be first, but if they don't get it done in a few years, then A&M. Could see that program rising quickly by recruiting the state of Texas under the SEC banner. But in reality LSU and Bama will be very hard to push from the big boy table.

Missouri could always pull out a surprising run with a favorable schedule.

However, ill select ga as my new champ.

UF fans were talking like that 2 years ago.

I'll go with a team capable of winning in Atlanta.

Georgia.

If they can get past Mizzou, of course.

Georgia doesn't play Bama or LSU this year, has one of the most experienced quarterbacks in the league, a coach that has been there forever in SEC terms, Grantham has had a chance to settle and looked good come the third year, and again, don't have to play LSU or Bama. They should make Atlanta, and if they can play the game of their life, win the title. At this point, winning the SEC puts you in the position to have a shot.

Are we the only team to have SEC titles in the BCS era but not have a BCS championship?
