No. People don't like him because he is a Christian.
Amazing.

I don't like Ole Miss but I can be honest and say Archie Manning has to be towards the top. That guy was a freak and probably the first true Option QB college football ever saw. Ole Miss wasn't running that offense, Archie was just that good and almost invented it. My dad had reels of old footage (not sure how or why he did) and watching Archie scramble to destroy defenses was unreal. I still have those old videos to this day. Maybe an Ole Miss fan makes me an offer lol?

I said Archie Manning was in the same class as Peyton and Eli during college and one of the posters told me when I said things like that, it is the reason nobody takes me seriously.

People who say that never saw Archie play. Had he been drafted by a competent NFL team he would have put up some very solid numbers.

I guess I look at this question and have to answer it based on who I would like to be starting for my team this upcoming year, based on what we saw during their college career. Trying to look at it in an unbiased way, how do I not say Newton?

He took a mediocre Auburn team and dominated the SEC when the conference as a whole was the strongest it's ever been.

There have been WAY too many great QBs to state this definitively. The best pocket passer? The best mobile QB? The best for their system? The greatest single season performance? The greatest overall career?

IMHO, the answers would be:
Peyton Manning
Cam Newton
Nick Marshall (for QB to system)
Johnny Manziel
AJ McCarron & Tim Tebow

That said, that's not to take away from the historical greats that have filled the rosters here, like Starr, A. Manning, Namath, Stabler, etc. Just that the systems in place then and athletes then are hard to compare against today's.

If you're asking most dominant QB vs the athletes of their time, then the answer eludes me. Probably Archie?

Not really his fault - he had Whitworth as a coach.

Dude squandered what might have been the best QB to ever wear Crimson.

I am pretty sure that isn't the reason nobody takes you seriously.

What? That doesn't make much sense. I bet 90% of SEC QB's are Christians.

Nobody has mentioned Matthew Stafford. He is the richest.

(except for Peyton)

Want to add Eric Zeier to the list. Not a sexy name but had a solid fricking career. I think he at least deserves mention in this thread.

Is he richer than Eli?

The answer is no, btw.
