I'm sure they cared, but it was really meaningless except to those seniors and those who will never play a football game again. Actually anything outside of the Championship is meaningless to a team with serious championship aspirations.

I think they failed to prepare and play as well as OU did, but they cared plenty. That's going to bug the hell out of them until August.

I saw great effort from Bama, just got outplayed as their oline couldn't hold off the rush on AJ. AJ ain't that good either!

If you think our fans are bad about this, just wait until the day Saban leaves or retires. They will be cursed for a good 20 years with that, and will never be able to enjoy a season again.

Meh, they just need the right hire. LSU got it right with Les and Florida State appears to have it right with Jimbo

LSU loses a game = program in decline.

Bama loses a game = they didn't even really care to win it.

He sure seemed to last night. He threw some serious tantrums, including a major one over that obviously correct PI call.

Alabama may have started not caring but with 6min left in the game it was a 7 pt game, dont tell Alabama didn't care once the game got going. Alabama got their asses handed to them.

Alabama wanted to win the Sugar Bowl - don't doubt it for a second. They wanted to prove that the loss to Auburn was a fluke and now they own a two game losing streak instead and Saban was clearly out coached.

Alabama might have also hurt their chances at getting an automatic berth in the 4 team playoff system. Just like in the bad old days of the AP poll championships, the press declared that Alabama was the best team in the nation even though they didn't earn that title. Maybe the playoff committee will think twice about penciling Alabama in every year.

Alabama just had a Notre Dame season - soft schedule with a couple of wins against respectable teams and then they were exposed.

Must be a Bama alter making excuses. They got their asses handed to them. LSU will beat that arse next year in Red Stick.

I'm not sure how they were "exposed" I think that term gets throw around too much after a team loses. OU was just the better team last night and against AU they were a FG kicker away from winning.
I mean by the same token was LSU exposed by UGA, Ole Miss, or Bama? No they were just beaten by a better team on those days. CFB is becoming a lot like the NFL with parity as so many teams have closed the talent gap in recent years. What Alabama has done is impressive over the past few years just like LSU should feel proud over what it has accomplished.

Alabama struggled away from home against decent competition all year going back to the A&M game.

They only played five games away from home.

A&M
Kentucky
Mississippi State
Auburn
Oklahoma

They just aren't the dominant team they were made out to be.

You're kidding yourself if you think those players don't care about every game

That's the last time mccarron will play college ball. You're really think he didn't care?

Tthe players wanted that game they played hard they got beat and outcoached.

Saban should have kept running in down their throats. With over 9 minutes left why was he throwing like he was a big 12 team?

I think this game was really important to them. A team that is used to winning ends their season with a loss to their hated in-state rival who now basically takes "their" place in the NC game, they go up against a team/coach who is known to take shots at the SEC, & their senior class, the most successful class in Bama history, wants to go out on a winning note....you better believe they cared about winning this game. Problem is/was, this team got a case of the "big head" & didn't t think they would lose because, for God's sake, they are Bama. They didn't expect OU to come out & be ready to go toe to toe with them & once they got hit, the wheels started to come off & they lost their composure. "Big game lil' Nicky" has a big job ahead of him for next season, that young defense will have to mature physically & mentally to be able to compete at the level they are used to & they will be breaking in a new qb & looking for some new leadership. This 2 game losing streak is going to sting for a while. Don't get me wrong, their is no #decline happening but maybe they've come back down to earth a little. And it's not just the players, the last two games the almighty Saban has made some questionable decisions, like why did they abandon the run game against OU last night?
