Maybe Deloss Dodds?

The whole "we play everyone" mantra about the Big 12 falls apart when you look at who "everybody" is. 3 teams with losing records...and TCU and Baylor, because they don't have divisional play, is guaranteed to play each one of them every year. By comparison, OSU only had two conference games vs. teams with losing records. So the 9th conference game kills their strength of schedule. Not having divisional play ensures that you get to play every shitty team in your conference...and there aren't enough good teams in the conference to compensate for a shitty OOC schedule...and Baylor failed to take care of that. In contrast, Alabama played zero SEC teams with losing schedules.

And this issue has its roots in Austin...and Waco, by extension. Texas treats aTm, Missouri, and Nebraska like poor stepchildren for long enough, so they leave the conference. If those teams were still there, there would have been a Big 12 championship game last weekend. And TCU and Baylor would have had Nebraska, Missouri, and aTm on their schedules. So they can blame Texas, and maybe Baylor can also blame themselves for following along. Granted, TCU came along afterwards, though.

I place the "blame" on Baylor and whoever does their scheduling. Their OOC schedule could have at least one good team.

When you only have 3 OOC games instead of 4...because you automatically get to play all three of the shitty conference teams...you don't need to be scheduling an FCS team and two other teams that go a combined 3-21.

They should blame themselves. They had the opportunity to go undefeated and make it in but they didn't. You shouldn't leave it up to the committee to decide.

"one true champion" my arse. I honestly believe he thought by having co-champs he could sneak two teams in.

We don't care about Baylor on the SECR.

If one team dominates then yes this is true.

The argument against a CCG is that, for example, if Mizzou had won we all know there are better teams in the SEC. Are they the "true" champion? Technically. But they wouldn't finish above 4th in the West.
