You're all missing the biggest plot revealed today. Mullen actually tricked Florida into hiring a DC that gave up 31 points to Ole Miss.

He doesn't have the talent. It's at least a 2-3 year job assuming Sumlin doesn't get fired.

He was the only thing LSU had going for them this year.

So, there is that.

Probably a fanbase who thinks that a coach from U of Houston who had never won anything of substance, and best SEC West finish was 3rd with Sherman's players, will eventually lead a CFB nobody into national prominance

LSU had talent on Defense all over the field. A&M has a DE.

Good luck

And how high must a defense rank to be considered respectable? And how any years does he have to achieve that?

Your ambiguity is this thread's downfall.

There are plenty of good to great defenses that have two and three star talent. We have mostly four and some five star talent.

This argument is nonsense.

When a Chavis defense gets tired, you can stick a fork in them

IIIRC, A&M's offense tries to score as fast as possible

Welp

tbh Chavis is on the downside of his career. He peaked in 2011.
LSU will hire a quality DC and still get the same level of recruits and still field a top flite D.
aTm will still be the same as always. A middle to lower tier SEC team.
Occasionally, they will have really good year and finish 3rd in the SEC.

It must really piss them off that Mizzou has had more success since joining the SEC.

LSU finished 9th in Offensive Time of Possession.
Texas A&M finished 122nd.
I'm sure Chief's defenses will be just as stellar.

TAMU has the athletes so yeah he can fix it. The problem will be in whether or not their offense will give defense time to rest.

Maybe they only give up 450 yards as opposed to 600.

I do. They may not be world beaters next year........but their D will be improved. Their recruiting just got better. Their scheming just got better. Their program just got better.

Now lets talk about what Les is going to do to fix LSU's woes on O? (which is where every one of LSU's problems lie)
