Does "I sure as hell hope so" count?

I like the hire myself. Time will tell on a SECC though.

Kelly has ND playing for MNC in 3 years, so I don't see why Jones won't have Tennessee doing the same.

In a few years. It's not like the east is made up of world beaters. I think he'll get there and win one.

Not a chance. He almost assuredly won't ever win the east.

He has the bad luck to be heading a depleted team who happens to reside in a resurgent SEC East. The only way it could be worse is if the Vols were in the west.

Seriously, I have no clue at all

Hard to win SEC in one season. That seems to bet he going rate on UT coaches these days.

Pretty much what I expected. Tennessee is a damn joke.

I don't see why he couldn't. But only time will tell. I say that as long as a coach makes improvements from season to season, then titles and such will eventually come with patience.

Who knows.

No one thought Pete Carroll was worth a lick when he was hired either.

Many here bashed our hiring of Kevin Sumlin as well.

You just never know these days, and other than guys like Saban or Meyer, there doesn't seem to be a sure thing out there.

Concur. Assuming Jones does everything right, he's got 3-4 years before the Vols can compete with Georgia, South Carolina and Florida.

He couldn't even get through the Big East without losing 3 games. Doubt he'll win the SEC East with Muschamp doing work at Florida.
