This narrative otb that Bellotti built Oregon into some powerhouse is laughable. They were all over the place under Bellotti. Kelly turned their offense into a machine.

IIRC, Kelly is the only coach since the start of the BCS to take a team to the national championship game without a single top 10 recruiting class on the roster. And they were a 3 point loss to Cam Newton away from winning it.

Didn't he kick the crap out of Tennessee one year?

Maybe but his teams for the most parts looked average against the sec. Plus Tennessee hasn't really been great since Fulmer. I think his teams would be about like Sumlin's.

To be fair. Chip took over right when USC fell apart.

I've seen zero conversation/discussion from Aggies about an interest in Chip Kelly.
That's certainly not a knock on the guy; he just doesn't seem to be on the maroon radar.

We out weighed them by hundreds of lbs on both sides of the ball but they great. Had awesome rb's, lbs, and corners. Chip Kelly with blue chip recruits from Florida, GA, etc would be scary.

Just out of curiosity, who are you guys looking at? I'd imagine Chad Morris, Scott Frost, and maybe Justin Fuente are on that list.

The team made another NC game the year after he left too. The guy built a legit powerhouse program - not many can match his winning %.

If we do replace Sumlin, I don't think there's any available options better than Kelly. The guy won 87% of his games at Oregon. Oregon has a historical winning percentage of 57%.

It drives me crazy that he's being so overlooked by our fanbase. I'm going to be so pissed if we corndog this decision.
