Brady Hoke will be an excellent hire.

I wonder if Dooley is ready for a second chance? He'd likely take the job if they ask.

They will make a mediocre hire and vol fans on here will delude themselves into thinking he'll be good

TN used to be a football power for some reason. Even though their HS football is subpar when compared to surrounding states. Kids today can't remember a good UT program so it's harder to recruit.

Predicting this hire is a crapshoot. But they have a pretty bad track record lately, and will still be paying Butch and maybe even Dooley when the next hire is made.

It's what they did for their last three hires.

Tennessee is a national program. They haven't been good in a while but they still have a reputation of being a Top 15 college program. Guys like Peyton Manning and Eric Berry are great ambassadors for their program. Butch Jones was able to get talent there, so imagine what a guy like Chip Kelly could do with that talent.

Also, now that the East has their Saban, it's an even less desirable job.

Kirby is locking down Georgia Recruiting, where Tenn used to get most of their good recruits. Dabo is locking down the Carolinas. Richt and Jimbo have locked down Florida. Saban has locked down AL and LA.

Tennessee has no future until both Saban and Kirby are gone. Not enough talent in the state for a Tenn coach to achieve success in the SEC.

Lol. Jesus, you're on that Kirby koolaid strong. I'd hold off until he's done something Richt hasn't.

TN is producing great highschool talent right now, and we'll still get great players from other states as we always have.

GA fan needs to calm the frick down. Kirby might be good, but he hasn't done anything Richt didn't do yet. And, the chances of him being another Saban are slim to none.

Back on topic: Yes, TN will probably make a poor hire.

I tend to think this too. They will try to reach out to a couple of big names, get rebuffed, then panic. They should look at Hoke or maybe Kevin Sumlin.

Petrino will be coaching in the SEC next year, they might want to go after him.

Why? Butch was going to build Tn up brick by brick and we had to put up with that crap for the last 4 years.

Lets talk about UGA

They have beat these teams that everyone agrees is shite:

App state
samford
vandy
mizzou
Miss state
tenner

They have also beat Notre Dame by 1 point, who every year this board, including UGA fans, says is overrated as shite.

I have zero confidence UGA is anything more than slightly above average at this point.

Going into this past weekend this board was convinced Auburn was for real.....
