My memory might be failing me but I thought they used to play on Black Friday until the last few years of the rivalry. I remember watching those games on ABC at 11AM every year. Those games were awesome. It really wasn't the same after they moved it to primetime on ESPN.

Why do people act like Texas and A&M have always played on thanksgiving? They played in the Friday after for years.

That was only for about 8 years. Prior to that it was about 80 years of Thanksgiving.

I'm sorry but until right now I never knew they played on Thanksgiving. I've never watched those 2 teams play. Probably because A&M was never that good

Oh, my bad. I thought around 95 it switched to Black Friday, and I figured that most people on the board probably didn't watch this game before then. I do miss the rivalry though.
