And when other schools start to use Cecil Newton's shopping as a negative recruiting tool, it will be be even worse.

Next year is gonna be rough. I'd take 8-4 and smile my arse all the way to the Chik-Fil-A Bowl.

A couple of the guys aren't starters: Burns isn't a rue starter, Shoemaker has been in and out and Fannin hasn't started in the last 6 or 7 games.

But yes, losing our offensive line will really hurt especially with having no truly ready backups. Losing Bynes hurts the most on defense with Fairley being a huge loss too.

Demond Washington is a starting corner but he will be missed more at kick returns.

I honestly think that our defensive line can be better next year than this year even with losing Fairley, Blanc and Carter. We have some very capable guys behind them and if we get a few young guys this year that can come in and help, then we will be solid on the defensive line again.

We still are the better team.....even with all there "illegals"....You realize we left 17 pts out there on fumbles and dropped balls....God they are the luckiest bunch since '94 Auburn

This is the only spot that really concerns me.

But who knows what next year brings. Our best player on offense and our best player on defense this year weren't even on the team last year.

And I also feel that the D-Line will probably be better next year.

The loss of the offensive line and almost every significant defensive player will be huge.

We have some young guys with talent that will have to step up for sophomore campaigns if we want to have a good season.

Biggest losses are these:

17 Josh Bynes LB
18 Wes Byrum K
46 Craig Stevens LB
50 Ryan Pugh OL
57 Byron Isom OL
66 Mike Berry OL
73 Lee Ziemba OL

Possible leaving early
2 Cameron Newton QB
90 Nick Fairley DT

Word is that Darvin Adams isn't likely to get a first-day selection, and will stick around for another year. We'll almost certainly throw the ball a lot more next season with Cam gone.

Their*

And if Alabama was the better team yesterday, why was the offense so inept?

You realize we left 17 pts out there on fumbles and dropped balls.

That goes right back to the "better team" remark you made. There's no excuse for those types of mistakes. Great teams don't make those mistakes.

Dude, no... just no.

Darvin Adams just isn't the prototypical NFL receiver. He'd be a possession guy at best.

He'll be back. Maybe he'll have a 1000 yard receiving year like he should have had last year.
