I brought up being OC or DC at Alabama.

yes I know, but it was more a response to those who would put Pruitt up there without question and wouldn't put Aranda up there.

I don't question either one of them being up there.

I'll get the point of this thread done quickly.

1. Aranda

1. Canada

That is the last thing I was interested in. Why be stupid? It was a legitimate question. Just tell me what you think. I'm not looking for bias confirmation. I'm truly looking for those up and coming OC's and DC's around the country that I might not know about. Geez. Do you people ever let up even for a minute?

why did this get 8 downvotes. lol you'd think OCs would get credit for putting up numbers against Alabama. this year we had 4 different WRs with 90 plus yards. lol

Maybe because a lot of OC would look great with Watson as the qb. Lorenzo Ward looked like a great DC for us too when he had Clowney. Let's see how they do without the best player in college football running their offense.

mulitiple WRs getting the ball really has nothing to do with the QB. Renfrow wide open in the end zone ====> more abou the OC than the qb.

even florida's qb could make that pass.

What entirely new scheme did he implement this year? It didn't seem that different from a casual observers eyes.

4-3 to a 3-4. We didn't really have the best personel for a 3-4 either. I'm excited to see how he does when he can get some of the guys he wants that fit his scheme. We never really had a legit nose guard but hopefully Ed Alexander or Tyler Shelvin can change that. I think Shelvin is gonna be a monster. Hes like 360 and moves like he's a 5 tech defensive end.

Aranda and Pruitt are tied for 1st for DC.

I'd have to go Kiffin for OC at this point. He made some really really bad QBs look pretty damn decent and some decent RBs look really really good at his time at Bama.
My only slight against Kiffin is, how much of that is his offensive coaching abilities or the S&C coaching for the Oline. That Oline just seems to get the push on defensive lines regardless of who they are going against.

Those are all good coaches.

I'm far from a "coaches don't matter" guy, but players play.

Couple of guys off the beaten path that I like

DC Nate Woody App St

Gary Patterson is one of the best D coaches in college football. Fields a top defense almost every year with very mediocre talent

I won't name 3 but I'll list some off

Aranda Schiano Pruitt Venables Grantham (Think MSU got a good one), Brown, Foster

If you are saying "Up and comers" then you have Aranda, Pruitt, Venables and Grantham likely. The others have been in the business for a long while

OC is so much more wide open to me. There are 40 good ones because its much easier to be a good OC than a good DC IMO. Wilson is good at OSU, Clemson's dual guys are good, Riley as mentioned, Sark is a proven OC, I love what Tee Martin does at USC, Moorhead at PSU

Those are a good starting list. I'm sure i'm missing some good ones that recently lost a HC job or are in flux
