I don't see why y'all are so burnt up about being the 2nd school in a huge state. There is no shame in being behind UT. Perhaps if you want to be the flagship school of a state then whoever built A&M shouldn't have put it in the same state as one of the most popular schools in the nation. I will make arrangements for a support group composed of all the sad A&M fans and sad Auburn fans from the other thread in order to get some of this frustration out.

I don't know about 2nd school or not, but we are one of the 2 flagships. If you're trying to argue something different now then so be it.

When A&M was built the school you keep referring wasn't there yet.

Yeah dumb shite, we are. Go back and read the thread.

I've read the thread. OSU is a poor analogy. Hence my comment. Ohio =/= Texas when it comes to flagship universities.

Damn you're angry

What you think about it does not matter. A&M is both older than Texas and also a flagship.

Deal with it.

LSU, Notre Dame, USC, BYU, Miami, Clemson, Ga Tech, etc. Being a University of School is not an indicator of football success.

The a&m inferiority complex is so precious. It is doubly cute that you have one in your own state and with your neighbor to the east.

A&M is also older than tu if that is your measure.

This might be more "little brother" than anything I have ever heard from an AU fan.

Georgia Tech does not belong on that list.

Virginia Tech may be better to include

Flagship is more than an opinion or an individual's definition, they're defined that way for funding reasons. If you want to argue UT is the most prominent school in the state I won't argue, but by the technical definition of a flagship university both are flagships.

Texas A&M is both older and larger than tu. These are undisputed facts

How? We're talking about defined flagships and not just schools you think are the top dog. If it were the latter, then no one would care about not having a&m. But if we are talking flagships, then a&m is going to be involved. It just is what it is

It doesn't really matter to anyone. It is just fun to watch you guys defend yourselves so damned hard at every opportunity.

I am with you both. Bring on the season already. At least we will have something of substance to harass each other about.
