Because he's still LSU's most winningest QB.

Im not defending him, but when you look at LSU's record with him "leading" you will see he won more games than any LSU QB before him or since. You can argue we won despite him as well and wouldn't be wrong, but in the end he gets the credit as it was his offense to command.

He'll forever be remembered for the last game of his career unfortunately. It's got to be the worst ending for the best team, ever IMO.
