I just don't have faith in Butch adequately preparing for the triple option even with extra time. Tennessee should win and cover and I hope they do but I doubt it.

How much offensive talent is Georgia bringing back?

Not sure but their philosophy doesn't require elite talent to work. Tennessee needs to score when they have the ball. I hope Bama never schedules those guys.

Where in the world are you getting those spreads? Here are the current Vegas odds:

Current spreads

So if we take the spreads listed at the link above, here are the SEC first-week games (with teams I would pick to cover in bold):

LSU -13 vs* BYU
Georgia -14 vs Appalachian State
Kentucky -10.5 at Southern Miss
Vanderbilt -5 at MTSU
Alabama -7 vs* Florida State
Texas A&M +3 at UCLA
Tennessee -3 at Georgia Tech
Florida +3.5 vs Michigan
South Carolina +5.5 vs* North Carolina State
Auburn -35 vs Georgia Southern
Mississippi -25 vs South Alabama

I said it was stupid when it was announced. There is absolutely zero reason to schedule Georgia Tech, especially for a big season opener on a Monday night in Atlanta.

I agree about Tennessee. I'm not so sure about Vandy. Middle Tennessee is a scrappy program, and Vandy tends to play down to the level of their weaker opponents. I could see them winning or losing that game by 3.

Auburn -35 vs Georgia Southern

Uh no...

I certainly expect Auburn to beat GA Southern by double digits, but those mfers are legit.

Georgia Southern's weird offense will be on the field for 33 minutes. Auburn will win a 35-14 type game.

If it were mid-season, I would agree. But gimmick offenses don't generally fare well when the other team has weeks to prepare (like in openers and bowl games). That's why I see Auburn winning 45-7 or so. But I agree that the spread is too big to place an actual bet.

I don't believe auburn covers. No way they show any other team a tenth of their offensive playbook, as long as they're winning the defense will only run a handful of plays, or run the risk to injure some lineman from chop blocks.
