OREGON
- played for NC in 2010 and 2014

VIRGINIA TECH
- played for NC in 1999

MISSISSIPPI
- school claimed 3 titles, but no AP/UPI/CFP

ARKANSAS
- school claimed 1 title, but no AP/UPI/CFP

MISSOURI
- should have 1960; came close in 2007

OKLAHOMA STATE
- came close to an opportunity in 2011

STANFORD
- 5 double-digit win seasons in last 6 years

WEST VIRGINIA
- played for NC in 1988; outside chance in 1993

The trophies that matter reside in Tuscaloosa.

Our titles are as legitimate as anyone's pre BCS. I'll go with Stanford on that list because they really only need to be great in two games to do it. The two playoff games.

Okie State I would say. Also, WV came real close in 2007 to playing in NC game but lost to Pitt the final regular season game if I remember.

yes, that is true. Both Mizzou and WVU lost their last game before the bowls.

With the way 2007 went, how fitting it would have been to have two programs without a national title, WVU vs. Missouri, playing fore the NC.

Arkansas would have been nice, but BYU would be better since they actually have a Heisman winner and a National Championship.
