He already has

Regardless. You don't fire the winningest coach in your schools history after an 11-1 season.

The coaches that will be gone, vs. the ones that should, will be different:

Who will be gone? Miles, Stoops

Who should be gone?

Butch---underachieves in terms of not winning the SEC-E at its weakest, but improves just enough to sell his team as still being on the rise.

Gus. A terrible start salvaged by a better back half of the season before being ritually sacrificed at the Iron Bowl means he's retained, in a Miles-like situation from last year.

Sumlin- I have no idea if A&M has a backup plan in place, but they need to start developing one. I don't think a 8-4 or 7-5 regular season mark is going to cut it much longer there.

Stoops is under contract through the end of next year. We are not going to pay $12 million to have him not coach for a season. How any times do we have to say that before you dense fricks get it through your head?

This is the year Bert starts getting criticism if things go badly. He is breaking in a new QB so nobody expects to win the superbowl, but personnel issues are no longer an excuse.

I think it depends on how bad he loses to Alabama and Georgia and his overall performance in the SEC. I think he gets fired.

Bucky and Gus. If the Saggies suck, add Sumlin.

so why does Butch deserve more criticism now than does Bert? They both inherited awful situations. That both have made gradual improvements each year. They are both in year 4 at their schools. But Butch is the one who "does just enough" to make people think he's improving and not Bert? I guess I'm just failing to see the rationale in all of that

If you consider Auburn fired Chizik just two years after winning a NC, then you have to put Gus on the biggest hot seat. Auburn has high standards and seem to be quick to pull the trigger. I don't see AU beating LSU or Bama, and I have to believe he is fired after the Iron Bowl.

Chizik didn't get fired just because of the losing record. He lost complete control of the team.

Sadly for you, unless Arkansas has a collapse of John L. Smith proportions, Bert will be back next year. Learn to live with the pig farmer making your life miserable for a while longer.

I don't know. I have never called for Butch's head. Maybe it's just people that like to rustle the feathers of all the Tennessee fans posting experts picks threads.

He's not talking shite about Bert. one of your buddies said Butch deserves to be fired because he's only improved just enough each year to make it look like he deserves to stay. Well...if that's true for Butch, its true for Bert. Its hard not to improve when you go 0-8 in the SEC your first season
